How we work

Six keystones. One goal: SDG 3.

Every EquiAccess project is built on the same six keystones, and every one of them carries toward the same place: the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 3, healthy lives and well-being for everyone, at every age.

The Bridge Framework

Communities facing barriers on one side. SDG 3 on the other. Six keystones hold the bridge up. Select one to see what it means.

The EquiAccess Bridge Framework A stone arch bridge built from six keystones: Breaking Barriers, Resource Provision, Inclusive Design, Digital Support, Guidance and Equitable Impact. People cross from communities facing barriers on the left to SDG 3, good health and well-being for all, on the right. Breaking Barriers

We map hurdles to communities and identify the necessary action.

UN Sustainable Development Goal 3

Good health and well-being, for all.

SDG 3 asks the world to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for everyone, at every age, by 2030. It's the far bank of our bridge. These are the targets our work contributes to.

3.4

Non-communicable disease and mental health

Cut early deaths from non-communicable diseases, including cancers, by one third through prevention and treatment, and promote mental health and well-being.

Our part. Our breast cancer awareness campaign, and an Indexer that tracks mood and well-being across visits, not only symptoms.

3.8

Universal health coverage

Everyone can reach quality essential health care, and safe, affordable medicines and vaccines, without financial hardship.

Our part. The Indexer brings the first steps of care to people far from a clinic. The map below tracks exactly this target.

3.c

The health workforce

Recruit, train and keep more health workers in developing countries, especially the least developed.

Our part. Tools that support community health workers.

SDG indicator 3.8.1 · The access gap

Where care is hardest to reach.

3.16 billion people cannot reach a health facility within an hour on foot. The map shows how reliably each country delivers essential health services.

Map: UHC Service Coverage Index (SDG 3.8.1), 2023, WHO and World Bank via Our World in Data. A score of 100 means a country delivers essential health services to everyone who needs them. Boundaries: Natural Earth (public domain). Travel time figures: Weiss et al., Nature Medicine, 2020. SDG target wording paraphrased from the UN's official SDG 3 targets.
