Privacy
Your pledge stays anonymous.
The short version: we never ask for your email, and your first name never leaves your device. Here is everything we collect, and why.
What we collect when you take the pledge
One anonymous record per pledge, with four things in it:
- the date you pledged (the day only, not the time)
- your age range, gender and country, only if you choose to share them. Each one starts as “Prefer not to say.”
That's all. The record has no name, email, IP address, location, cookie or device ID, so it can't be traced back to you.
Your first name
If you type your first name, it's only used to draw your card, in your own browser. It is never sent to us and never saved with your pledge. So the next page can draw your card, your browser keeps the name in that tab until you close it.
Who sees your answers
Only the EquiAccess team. We report pledges as totals, for example how many people pledged from each country. We never share or publish anyone's individual answers.
How long we keep it
We keep the pledge records while the campaign runs and while we report its results. After that, we delete the individual records and keep only the totals.
What your browser remembers
Your browser keeps two small notes on your own device: that you've taken the pledge and on which day, so it can show your card again, and whether you turned on Easy read. Neither is sent to us. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes them.
Services we use
- Netlify hosts this website and stores the pledge records. Like any web host, Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure. Those logs aren't connected to your pledge.
- Google Fonts provides the fonts on this site. When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address, as with any web request.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
If you're under 13
Please ask a parent or guardian before you take the pledge or post your card online.
Questions
Email us at info@equiaccess.org. Because pledges are anonymous, we can't find or remove one person's pledge, but we're happy to explain anything here.
